The inauguration ceremony of Nayi Soch Program an initiative of Business incubation center and students from the management sciences department led by Miss Sabeena Abbasi, Bahria University Islamabad Campus took place at the Naval Gymnasium on the 2nd of May 2019. The Chief Guest Begum CNS/Chairperson PNWA inaugurated the event and visited the stalls of the female led businesses and entrepreneurs. The Program aims to promote women empowerment across the board and engage youth participation to practice and preach the concept of business scalability, sustainability and economic development through Entrepreneurship. Through this program women-led starts up were able to create and showcase their arts and crafts projects from the serviced/underserviced stations across Islamabad/Rawalpindi, exposing them to opportunities they couldn’t get otherwise.
The Chief Guest appreciated the amazing social work done by Team BIC in a Parallel program called “Pehchan” in collaboration with the Community support Program , where local women of Kalinger Village and other underserviced stations across Islamabad/Rawalpindi were offered a unique opportunity to learn and encouraged them to practice the concepts of entrepreneurship and to grow beyond the socio-cultural, institutional, technical and financial barriers, and shared the Pakistan Navy and PNWA’s vision to promote Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurship in Pakistan. The Program is also working in junction with other social events and activities that are undergoing and are in collaboration with Business Incubation Center, Bahria University Islamabad Campus engaging them through residential learning opportunity in BIC with the aim to support the micro-accelerator/incubators in the Pakistan. Dr. Shehzad Director ORIC also briefed the Chief guest on the multiple programs being managed at BIC and discussed future collaboration opportunities and joint projects in the areas of women and Social Entrepreneurship.
