Dr. Naveed Ahmed is a highly accomplished and dedicated professional with a strong background in Marine Biology/Fisheries & Aquaculture. After completion of his Ph.D. degree entitled “Effect of Variations in Feed Constituents, Feeding Regime and Stocking Density on the Growth of Seabream in Cage Culture”, he was appointed as Assistant Professor in 2019, in the Department of Maritime Sciences, after that he appointed as the Head of Aquatic Diagnostic & Research Center in 2021.
His research interests are Aquaculture, Aquaculture Nutrition, Fisheries, Fisheries Biology, Marine Biology, Aquatic Ecotoxicology, Aquatic Resource Management, Ecology, and Under Water Biodiversity (Corals). He is a scientific diver and explored many coral species and underwater seaweeds. He is a Principal Investigator of an HEC-funded project entitled “Growth performance, survival and body composition of commercially important fish species in cage/pen culture (HEC # 2637).
His work has received a substantial number of citations 305, leading to an h-index of 10 and an i10-index of 8 underscoring the impact of his research. Dr. Naveed served as a reviewer of more than 15 International Journals and revised more than 45 research articles for different journals. He also conducted 20 M.Phil. and Ph.D. viva as external examiners selected by the Advance Studies Research Board, University of Karachi.
