Analysis and Verification of Hyper-Spectral Signature Images

Signature verification is one of the most widely employed authentication mechanisms all over the world. Thanks to the advancements in different areas of image analysis and pattern classification, a number of computerized signature verification systems have been developed over the last three decades. Existing techniques for signature verification work with three band images (RGB images). As opposed to RGB images, Hyper-Spectral Imaging (HSI) captures the images in dozens or hundreds of narrow contiguous bands which contain much more information than traditional RGB images. The proposed research aims to exploit the rich information in different bands of HSI images and apply it to the signature verification problem.
