Ms. Aisha Qureshi is a young microbiologist and independent researcher. Following the completion of M.Sc. (Microbiology) from Jinnah University for Women in 2018, she worked progressively on the Research topic “Microbial Assessment of Fishes Transported from Fisheries to Local Markets of Karachi, Pakistan”, for her M.Phil. studies. She worked in many laboratories as a trainee microbiologist and research associate. She also worked as a trainee microbiologist in Food and Marine Resources Research Centre, PCSIR Laboratories Complex Karachi. After gaining valuable experience in the field of Microbiology, she was appointed as a Lab Assistant in Aquatic Diagnostic and Research Centre, in 2020. She published research finding entitled “Evaluation of Fungistatic Property of Indigenous Lactic Acid Bacteria Isolated from Dairy Sources”, and currently involved in research projects such as “Isolation and Identification of bacteria present in wild catch seafood of Pakistan”. She is also involved in the ministry of marine fisheries project related to the “Migration of fish from coastal areas”.
Her technical domain falls in various fields including marine microbiology, marine biotechnology, waste management and proficiency testing of seafood commodities. In ADRC her core Job responsibilities include microbial testing of seafood along with research in related domains as well as the implementation of ISO 17025: 2017, and ISO 9001: 2015.
